Reporting to the Sr.

Manager of Programs, the
Diversity Coordinator is responsible for acting as an ambassador for the Association and to identify emerging issues and best practices to be shared with the community at large.

The Diversity Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the annual Diversity Symposium which provides an opportunity to attract new interest and bring stakeholders together advancing the mandate of this position.

The Diversity Coordinator is accountable to the program funders and is required to provide detailed report writing and statistics.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identifying, maintaining, and building strong relationships and community partnerships to promote diversity, immigration, and multiculturalism
  • Overseeing the planning, implementation, and delivery of the annual Diversity Summit
  • Leading and sustaining an environment in which people from diverse backgrounds and experiences are valued and supported while overseeing a staff dedicated to building a crosscultural awareness throughout the province
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the preparation of the Association's annual report, strategic plan, promotional material, etc.
  • Leading the development of funding proposals for the Division
  • Providing effective leadership by directing, coaching and guiding the Diversity Team towards its objectives and conduct annual performance assessments
  • Prioritizing work in clear alignment with the ANC's goals and make decisions in the best interest of the organization as well as its clients, funders, and operating environment
  • Supporting colleagues in a variety of media, community, and government relations initiatives, as needed or required
  • Enhancing the overall effectiveness of the Division by creating work processes and detailed job descriptions for each role
  • Ensuring program reports are submitted for review in a timely manner
  • Remaining abreast of current cross cultural resources, trends, needs, changes, and service gaps

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
  • Passion for promoting diversity, workplace inclusion, and newcomer integration
  • Demonstrated creative ability when developing promotional materials and media initiative
  • Demonstrated collaborative style of management with an ability to influence others
  • Solutions focused when addressing unique challenges both internal and with stakeholder groups
  • Experience developing goals, timelines and delivery method to achieve set objectives
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience developing and delivering topshelf presentations
  • Experience in public/media relations
  • Possesses attention to detail in report writing and compliance requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Willing to travel, ability to work outside normal operating hours
