Dragados Canada, Inc., the Canadian construction arm of the ACS Group (one of the world's largest international construction and engineering companies), is seeking a talented and experienced Assistant Project Manager (Construction) to join its dynamic and energetic team.


Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry-leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.


Initially the job location will be in downtown Toronto until about March/April 2025, after this position will be based out of our Whitby, ON project office location.

Responsibilities:


  • Process, issue, reproduce and file engineering and construction documents to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of accuracy in capturing metadata in both, the project and client's systems (Unifier or other electronic document management system (EDMS)) in accordance with procedures and requirements for metadata for reporting/auditing
  • Receive, capture, control and access of all project documents
  • Maintain project distribution matrix within the EDMS
  • Ensures achievement of established turnaround specifications from receipt of requests into document control to completion of processing and distribution
  • Allocate project document/drawing numbers as required per guidance of Project Management, Project Agreement, and/or Client requirements
  • Assist in providing support to new project team members regarding appropriate document control practices and provide training on the EDMS
  • Identify and escalate processing or other system issues to the Commercial Manager / Project Controls Director in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
  • Assist in maintenance of reporting system to track all NCR's, CAR's, RFI's, Change Request and other documentation deemed critical by the project from start to finish
  • Assist project teams with creating and developing reports in the EDMS
  • Work with the Commercial Manager / Project Controls Director, assist with postconstruction document archival / retention including as per Project Agreement specifications
  • Assist in the preparation of the end of project report, creation/communication/implementation, maintenance and auditing of all required contract submittals and in maintenance of the reporting system to track by originator all RFI's through the key milestones of their lifecycle

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of document control experience; experience in a construction project/site or engineering environment is preferred
  • Experience processing both design and vendor documentation
  • Experience working in a site / project team environment with the proven ability to build relationships with immediate and remote team members, clients, etc.
  • Prior experience using electronic document management Unifier/ Ebuilder/Box, Aconex or other EDMS
  • Proficient with MS Office Applications such as: MS Project; Excel; Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in electronic file management (e.g. Explorer and WinZip)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Portable Document format software such as Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently setup, create and maintain documentation metadata
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
