- Inspect civil works on construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.
- Produce inspection reports, participate in construction meetings, and assist with project reviews.
- Coordinate material testing, maintain quality control records, and provide instructions to contractors.
- Conduct technical surveys for municipal projects and utility installations.
- Assist in civil design preparation, contract documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Perform general administrative duties, including meeting minutes and photo organization.
- Carry out other relevant duties as assigned.
- Must hold a Civil Engineering Diploma or Degree and be registered (or eligible) with ASTTBC or EGBC.
- 2-5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally in a municipal setting.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
- Strong ability to cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders and the public.
- Proficiency in civil design, construction standards, and safety practices.
- Capable of making sound judgments and engineering decisions.
- Team player with the ability to work independently under pressure.

We are currently hiring for the role of Engineering Technologist II within our Engineering and Design team. This team plays a crucial role in the planning, design, and construction of essential infrastructures such as roads, walkways, cycling networks, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and drainage systems.
Reporting to the Design Supervisor, the Engineering Technologist II will oversee construction activities, conduct quality control inspections, and ensure that all work meets required standards and specifications. Responsibilities include maintaining records, generating progress reports, handling contract alterations, and communicating with various internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, this role involves assisting with survey work, design tasks, quantity estimations, and construction cost preparations.
