Manager, Operational Risk
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position works closely with _Transformation and Enterprise Operations (TEO)_ teams in Technology and Operations to ensure teams are in compliance of internal and external regulatory requirements.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Provide support/advice in general risk related inquiries from units within_ Transformation and Enterprise Operations_
- Manage the creation of new and/or existing policies/procedures within the PPL Library
- Complete Risk and Control Self-Assessments (in accordance with RBC standards) including due diligence activities before and after the assessment
- Provide a structured writing methodology and ensure consistency for the end user
- Ensure governance guidelines are adhered to and participate in the governance meetings, ensuring service partners are notified of changes
- Guide the policy/procedure owners with the placement of/adherence to GRM requirements when required act as liaison managing both the business and GRM standards
- Monitor, report, and escalate as required on operational risk selfidentified issues including IT Findings
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls in compliance with corporate objectives and government standards
- Review, evaluate, maintain and verify internal and business controls for processes and reports in accordance with RBC Policy, internal auditing and governmentmandated standards
- Identify internal control gaps in business procedures, processes or systems, and initiates appropriate remedial action
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
MUST HAVE:
- Strong collaboration skills working with various level within the Organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Demonstrate experience in managing compliance and audit requirements
- Simplification & Efficiency: Makes Work Simpler, Faster, Better
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and environments quickly
- Demonstrate ability to drive to achieve results and adapt to changing priorities
- Conflicts and issues resolution and escalation
- Sound analytical and problemsolving skills
