  • As a Department Financial Services Program Manager, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the compilation, preparation, and submission of financial information such as budgets, financial reporting, corporate reporting, and external reporting for a large financial portfolio

Primary duties include:

  • Develop a schedule for the compilation, preparation, and submission of financial reports, ensure they are completed with accuracy, integrity, consistently and on time for the Finance Leadership team.
  • Manage and provide direction on staff training and development programs to meet current and future portfolio and corporate needs.
  • Provide financial review and analysis of data including revenue, expenditures, balance sheet account analysis, variance analysis, costing, cash flow analysis, forecasting and modelling, financial ratios, statement of financial position etc.
  • Collaborate with Finance Leads and the Finance Manager to enhance quality and timeliness of reports.
  • Participate in developing and enhancing financial policies, processes, controls, and systems that are responsive to internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • A degree and completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • At least 8 years of financial and/or accounting experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching staff is required.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Hyperion (Budget Planning and Reporting) will be considered assets.
  • Identify, execute and support initiatives to develop and enhance financial policies, processes, controls and systems to create efficiency/effectiveness which are responsive to requirements of interested parties.
  • Strategic leadership, including the ability to build trust, influence without authority, understand needs, build support, and work effectively with interested parties.
  • Strong systems thinking, communication skills, business and political acumen, and the ability to build partnerships and collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
