We are looking for a Vice President, Business Development (internally referred to as Director, Business Development) to help grow our business and contribute to our future.


The Vice President, Business Development, will lead a team of dedicated sales professionals, focused on selling our products and solutions to clients in the Legal and Financial services business segments.

This position will also oversee the Partnerships strategy for the organization.


What you'll do:

  • Be accountable for revenue generation and growth targets within designated business segments by growing the pipeline and broadening the reach of products and services used by current and new customers.
  • Set strategic direction and sales targets for the Business Development team.
  • Provide leadership during the creation and execution of sale proposals, lead generation, pricing analysis, quarterly business reviews, RFPs, client agreement review, customer process workflow design and relationship management.
  • Make decisions regarding objectives and approaches to critical assignments, including contract, and pricing negotiations.
  • Monitor performance of the Sales team and ESC as a whole against goals via financial and sales operations reporting to ensure that objectives are met including achievement of quarterly and annual revenue goals and accurate pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Develop relationships with key buyers and decisionmakers at new and/or existing clients, protect and grow the business.
  • Participate in Events / Conferences, boards, leadership panels to expand the current reach of ESC, to stay on top of emerging market trends with potential for expansion of ESC products / services, and to maintain up to date on all regulatory changes that may need to be included in the current product / service suite.
  • Oversee the strategic partnerships function, developing relationship with business leaders in targeted market segments to evolve new ways to diversify our revenue stream and create new avenues for growth.

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years as a Head of Sales or VP of Sales or 10+ years of sales management experience leading a sales team.
  • Experience in setting annual strategy, targets and measuring sale performance.
  • Experience selling to financial services and legal industry in Canada.
  • Legal Knowledge of Search & Registrations services relating to the government public records including but not limited to PPSA/RDPRM, Corporate Registry and Land Registry; Customer Onboarding AML/KYC Regulations relating for financial services segment
  • Understanding of Credit Risk, equipment leasing, auto lending, small business lending, insurance, loan origination systems & requirements an asset
  • Clear understanding of profit / loss statement, including cost of delivering product(s) / services(s) and the impact of contract / pricing negotiations and concessions on ESC's bottom line.
