Position Overview
The Shoreline Power Group is a Joint Venture of Aecon, United and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project.

The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 3 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.


This project is part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor.

Unit 3 is the second of six reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program.


The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit 3, as well as construction management and trade labour.

Work is underway presently, with expected completion in Q2 2026.


Under the direction of the Series Training Manager, the Training Facility General Foreperson will lead the set up and continuous facility requirements to support Training Program for the Bruce Power FCFR Series execution.


Key Responsbilities

  • Responsible to ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public
  • Implement Joint Venture and Client policies and project procedures as required
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and updating of project schedule with the Training Manager
  • Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy
  • Review and take off facility documents to create Field Work Packages as part of the planning phase prior to mobilizing the work force and provide estimates for scope changes
  • Plan, supervise and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals, and work schedules
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements
  • Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project schedule and budget
  • Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc.
  • Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines
  • Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc.
  • For the duration of the Training Schedule, maintain the Training Facility set up condition to support the training activities
  • For the duration of the Training Schedule, work with Training Supervisor to establish and implement mockup configurations to support the training activities
  • Provide leadership to instructors and trainees

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 10+ years of construction project experience
  • Technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • Ability to successfully supervise a construction project
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
  • Experienced in estimating industrial construction projects
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Project Management Protocols considered an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Selfmotivated team player who demonstrates leadership
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills
