Position Summary


As a Transborder Supervisor, your responsibility will be to provide direction to the team and guidance to our business through following our established Transborder policies, procedures, programs and best practices.

A motivated, Administrative professional with an emphasis on being customer, solution and process improvement focused.


You will work closely with the Transborder Group to support the leaders through promoting a positive open-culture working environment that promotes positive communication, empowerment, development, and support.

As a key member of the Transborder team, you will support to create the same positive working relationships with our client groups.


This position is all about the efficient and timely PAPS processing of shipments for border crossing to the USA, and prompt and proper handling of northbound trailers and paperwork from the USA, as well as all BOND shipments.

The processing will happen within the corporate goals of safety, service and cost control. Developing an engaged and motivated team is critical to the success of this role. This role is accountable for the Transborder administration work within the gateway terminal.


How you'll help:


  • Follow to business expectations and established KPIs.
  • Maintain process and quality standards by following prescribed process and demanding same of your team.
  • Drive out inefficiencies, suggest improvements to reduce rework and defects.
  • Ensure all shipments are worked daily, with comments and cause codes, as required.
  • Customer focused and maintain fast turnaround time of exception resolution (open to close) with internal or external customers.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities with other work units or departments.
  • Resolve workrelated problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports.
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
  • Requisition supplies and materials.
  • Support business operations during Canadian statutory holidays as required.
  • Performs same work as those supervised.
  • Other related duties as may be required.

Your Skills and Qualifications:


  • Minimum of secondary education, with preference of postsecondary education (general stream), or a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial
  • Experience and knowledge of transborder processes and regulatory affairs
  • Experience in dealing with Canada and US customs
  • Experience in broker industry would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating people
  • Communication skills advanced, both written and spoken
  • Computer skills accuracy, MS products, AS400, web based programs
  • Demonstrated customer relationship skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Able to work deadlines in high transactional environment
  • Ability to champion business needs in a collaborative manner to colleagues
  • Ability to work autonomously and with selfdirection
  • Strong sense of urgency and ownership of deliverables
  • Results focused
  • English, other languages an asset
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment
  • Normally 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; may be required to work different or additional hours from time to time.
  • Must follow all company requirements to promote a safe work environment. Perform all work safely in a fastpaced work environment. Required PPE must be worn at all times.
