LOCATION:
HK - Toronto


SHIFT:

Must have the flexibility to work night shifts Sunday to Thursday 11PM - 7AM.**
TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED ON DAY SHIFT 7:00 A.M.

- 3:00 P.M.

SUMMARY
Our QA Inspector is the person responsible for collecting the data of tests and product inspections. The QA Inspector spends 80% on the floor and 20% in the lab.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform receiving inspection.
  • Print out inspection sheets for production as required.
  • Perform all required inprocess inspections in Extrusion, Fabrication and Molding Department including first off inspection, OD/ID PI Tape measurements, caliper and shadowgraph measurements, hardness test, kg/ft, silicone weight check, visual inspection, etc. in accordance with requirement on drawings, inspection sheets and quality operating procedures.
  • Perform final inspection of the products.
  • Perform compression set tests, tensile and elongation tests, tear resistance tests, specific gravity, tensile set, permanent set tests, etc.
  • Perform Water / Oil Absorption test, Compression Curve test, etc. as required.
  • Follow the control of nonconforming product procedure.
  • Fill out all required records (test reports, inspection sheets, etc.) completely and clearly.
  • Other specialized functions when they are needed.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Adhere to all pertinent federal, provincial and local health and safety legislative requirements.
  • Report all accidents, regardless of how minor.
  • Work in accordance with the occupational health and safety policy, and all sitespecific health and safety requirements (employee handbook).
  • Report all unsafe conditions to Quality Manager.
  • Wear all required safety equipment.
  • Review and follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all nonsmoking requirements.
  • Not make any safety device inoperable.
  • Not conduct any unsafe work.

COMPLEXITY & JUDGEMENT

  • Able to regularly encounter differing complex problems, which requires judgment to analyze and identify alternative courses of action where established procedures / polices may not exist.
  • Work involves nonroutine tasks that normally require different and unrelated methods within authorized limits.

CONTACTS
Interacts daily with Quality Manager, QA Lead hand / Lab Technician, Production Supervisors, Lead Hands, and Operators.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good communication skills and able to read and write English.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Working Knowledge of computers.
