Summary:

Manage maintenance of and compliance with Robertet Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, FSVP and SQF requirements. Work on food safety issue resolution and corrective actions. Work with Supply Chain and other internal customers to ensure compliance with food safety requirements. Act as the key point of contact for all matters of food safety, both planned and unplanned.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Safety: Comply with all safety rules and guidelines, report all potential issues. Actively participate in all departmental and company safety meetings, training sessions and activities.
  • Establish and maintain programs and policies to ensure manufacturing of food safe products at all times.
Monitor all federal mandated food safety regulations and requirements and ensure compliance. Stay updated on Food Regulations.

  • Identify and implement current industry best practices. Identify and be ready to lead organization change to implement proposed regulatory standards.
  • Develop and manage food safety related projects and programs
  • Lead and facilitate HACCP team meetings
  • Drive implementation of best practices for allergen handling
  • Inspect facility on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Conduct GMP audits
  • Provide training and development to colleagues on the food safety aspects of their jobs (e.g GMP, HACCP, Allergen, etc)
  • Maintain all pertinent records, reports and other paperwork as needed
  • Evaluate food safety information for supplier approval
  • Partner with Supply Chain to meet plant objectives while providing advice on food safety matters.
  • Take a lead role in managing third party (SQF) audits
  • Coordinate internal audits program and act as the lead auditor
  • Maintain Kosher and Halal certifications and act as lead on audits
  • Maintain Organic certification and stay up to date on regulations and Global equivalency standards
  • Meet with project teams to build food safety into the equipment via hygienic design
  • Validate cleaning procedures and protocols via appropriate testing of rinse water as well as Protein, ATP, and microbiological environmental swabbing.
  • Coordinate mock recalls. Be the expert regarding recall procedures.
  • All other Food Safety duties as appropriate
  • Commitment to Robertet and SQF Safety and Quality Standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems.
  • Work with QC/QA technologists as needed to process product information request
