Research Scientist

The Research Scientist - R & D is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the companies' chemistry R & D program and resources.

This includes both internal and client initiated development activities.

Primary responsibilities of the job:

Works closely with the CTO-Chemistry to develop, update and prioritize the companies R&D program
Responsible for the daytoday supervision of the companies R & D program, ensuring both internal and external deliverables and deadlines are met
Daytoday supervision of the R&D Technicians and other resources allocated to the R&D function
Works closely with other scientist to ensure the company leverages its resident knowledge
Responsible for liaison with clients on R & D activities including providing regular status reports, meetings.
Works closely with the Manager, Data Integrity and Quality Systems Manager to ensure that all newly developed / modified methods are promptly documented and integrated within our Quality / LIMS systems. This will also include timely submission to our accreditor(s) for addition to our external accreditation(s) as appropriate. Report on the status of R & D program / projects during administrative meetings (e.g. ARC)
Train technologist/technician
/analyst to implement new / modified methods as necessary
Has the Authorization to stop the work, to approve planned deviations, and to submit reports to clients
The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

D. in Chemistry or related field, preferred

M.Sc and significant related experience
Several years' experience in a similar role
Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
Effective communication skills relevant to the position
Analytical, detailoriented, accurate
