Research Scientist


The Research Scientist - R & D is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the companies' chemistry R & D program and resources.

This includes both internal and client initiated development activities.


Primary responsibilities of the job:


  • Works closely with the CTO-Chemistry to develop, update and prioritize the companies R&D program
  • Responsible for the daytoday supervision of the companies R & D program, ensuring both internal and external deliverables and deadlines are met
  • Daytoday supervision of the R&D Technicians and other resources allocated to the R&D function
  • Works closely with other scientist to ensure the company leverages its resident knowledge
  • Responsible for liaison with clients on R & D activities including providing regular status reports, meetings.
  • Works closely with the Manager, Data Integrity and Quality Systems Manager to ensure that all newly developed / modified methods are promptly documented and integrated within our Quality / LIMS systems. This will also include timely submission to our accreditor(s) for addition to our external accreditation(s) as appropriate. Report on the status of R & D program / projects during administrative meetings (e.g. ARC)
  • Train technologist/technician
    /analyst to implement new / modified methods as necessary
  • Has the Authorization to stop the work, to approve planned deviations, and to submit reports to clients
  • The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Ph.
D. in Chemistry or related field, preferred

  • M.Sc and significant related experience
  • Several years' experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills relevant to the position
  • Analytical, detailoriented, accurate
