Material's Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, and Soil) Firm, that provides engineering consultation, construction field reviews, and construction materials testing, for a wide array of projects and clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Kontur is growing and is seeking a _
Materials Testing Technician_ to become part of Kontur's team. This position will be based in Sechelt. This is an hourly permanent position, with the expectation of full-time hours.

Job Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Field Testing (compaction testing, asphalt coring, concrete testing etc.)
Aggregate, soils and concrete laboratory testing as needed;
Conducting Laboratory tests according to testing procedures;
Using, cleaning and maintaining various types of equipment;
Construction field review and/or monitoring;
Other requested administrative or miscellaneous tasks requested by your supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Must have a reliable vehicle in good working condition, properly insured for business use.
Must have a valid BC driver's License.
Must have an ability to lift and control weights up to 22 kgs/50 lbs.
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be available for shift work (day/night).
Must be available to travel and work away from the main office/laboratory of extended periods.
Must be available to work outdoors and in all weather conditions, when safe to do so.
Must have at least a Grade 12 Highschool Diploma.
Postsecondary certificates or training an asset.
CCIL Certification is an asset.
Previous TDG Training and experience using a Nuclear Gauge an asset.
Lab experience is an asset.

Hourly wages will be commensurate to experience. This position is also eligible to participate in Kontur's Group Benefits, performance incentives, and Continued Professional Development plans/policies. Phone and Vehicle allowances will be provided.

Salary:
$22.00-$30.00 per hour
