Blue Feather Communications is a fast-growing maintenance and construction contractor looking to add a General Labourer to our team.

If you have a valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License, have not been convicted of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act, and have reliable transportation to our yard in Stayner, join the Blue Feather Communications Family, and let's grow together

Duties and Responsibilities include and not limited to:

Digging holes and trenches
Pulling cable
Operating equipment and tools
General site preparation and cleanup as directed
Complete the Driver's daily pretrip, enroute and posttrip vehicle inspections
Complete the Driver's log book, accident or incident reports
Handle and distribute construction materials, as well as safely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
Able to read construction plans
Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e. saws, drills, jumping jacks)
Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazardsRemoval of all debris from work sites
Assist with traffic control as directed
Other duties as required

Qualifications:

High school diploma or relevant experience
12 years of related experience in the construction industry
Good verbal communication skills and ability to work with others
Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs) safely
Must be able to speak, read and write in English
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
Ability to follow instructions
Must be able to work in restricted and tight spaces and at heights
Must have a valid G Driver's License or equivalent with a clean driver's abstract
Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check

Working Conditions

Indoor/Outdoor working environment; ability to work in all weather conditions
Travelling to various sites may be required
Overtime work may be required
