We are currently seeking those interested in a
Working Foreman position to support the Blue HDD Utilities & Excavating Inc.

civil team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire or ducts) for various projects.


Duties and Responsibilities include and not limited to:

  • Leads on various size projects
  • Identifying, communicating, and troubleshooting problems on the job site
  • Ensures safety practices are observed by all crews during their work
  • Reports, coordinates, and supervises all aspects of a project
  • Execute the daily plan and work sequence under the direction of the Supervisor, completing construction work in an effective safetyconscious manner.
  • May work independently performing site surveys for estimates, proposal preparation, or quality assurance.
  • Must be hands on, operate power tools, equipment when needed (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators, a trencher, backhoe, excavators, directional drills)
  • Work with and alongside labourers to successfully complete the required work
  • Complete work/tasks as directed.
  • Maintain safe equipment operation and maintenance
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance, cleanliness, and condition

Job Requirements:


  • 3+ years of equipment operation in a construction environment. Underground telecommunications preferred.
  • Ability to work and follow directions in challenging work environments.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs, carry, bend, reach etc.
  • Punctual and flexibility
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's Licence clear of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
  • D or A with Z endorsement license would be an asset

Working Conditions:


  • Indoor/Outdoor working environment; ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Travelling to various sites may be required
  • Movements can include lifting, bending, walking, climbing, sitting, standing, kneeling, etc.

Monday to Friday; voluntary overtime during nights and weekends may be required.


Preferred Experience/ Training and Certifications:


  • First Aid/CPR Training
  • Working at Heights
  • Equipment operation experience
  • Working in a construction environment

Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour
