Description

The Manager, Information Technology - America's role is to plan, organize, and manage IT staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure.

This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems.

The Technology Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion across the America's business units locations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement short
- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacitymeets existing and future requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans fornetwork resource administration and appropriate use.
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing networkperformance statistics and reports.
  • Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, andtroubleshooting end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventoryand related documentation.
  • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of inhouse and remote hardware and software across the organization's network in compliance with corporate standards and policies.
  • Manage and set priorities for the maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and so on within the Americas unit and in compliance with standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
  • Manage operational costs; conduct near
- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.

  • Establish and maintain regular written and inperson communications with the organization's executives, decisionmakers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities as necessary.
  • Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians across all America's locations, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action.

Education and Work Experience:


Required:
University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science

Required:
Seven to ten years of related progressive experience in Information Technology

  • 5 years' experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
  • 5 years of successful leadership of an infrastructure team.
  • Handson experience in troubleshooting hardware.
  • Knowledge of current protocols and standards.
  • Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations to company operations.
