    Recruiter I - Vancouver, Canada - Service Corporation International

    Description

    Job Description Summary:

    Must Live In the Area*Supports the full recruiting lifecycle including sourcing, advertising, screening, testing, interviewing, profiling, reference checks, assisting with background checks, and relocation issues as require for corporate positions at various levels. Utilizes progressive recruiting techniques and maintains a high level of commitment, compliance and consistency to the overall recruiting process as well as communications with hiring managers and candidates. Serves as primary ambassador to promote the SCI employment brand and may attend various local and regional events to promote the brand.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Bilingual in English and French required

    Customer Support

    • Develops knowledge of customer groups to effectively target recruitment efforts in a cost effective and efficient manner.
    • Partners with hiring managers to identify appropriate recruiting strategies for current and future openings.
    • Educates hiring managers on current hiring trends, labor market data, and best practices in recruiting and retention methods.
    • Assists managers on hiring trends and recruitment tools.
    • Works with higher level hiring managers.
    Recruiting

    • Coordinates recruitment functions, including job and career fairs as required.
    • Uses various resources to source qualified diverse candidates, including internet, intranet, media, schools, community recruitment, networking, etc.
    • Screens candidates using telephone screens, interviews, assessment tools, etc.
    • Maintains applicant and candidate workflow within the Applicant Tracking System.
    • Identifies avenues to positively promote the SCI employment brand.
    • Provides relevant metrics and reports as requested to highlight recruiting activity on an ongoing basis.
    • Assists with the research and development of new sourcing methods and strategies.
    • Recruits for higher level jobs within the organization.
    EDUCATIONAL/Experience/MINIMUM Requirements


    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field

    Experience:

    • Three (3) years of full lifecycle recruiting and interviewing experience with entry level and midlevel openings
    • Bilingual in English and French required

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Basic understanding of employment laws as they apply to the hiring process
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to establish relationships quickly and easily
    • Ability to work well under pressure with excellent time management skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Must be taskoriented and be able to consistently meet deadlines
    • Highly selfmotivated, able to work fairly autonomously with general direction

    Work Conditions:
    Work Environment

    • Work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions
    • Limited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required
    • Professional Dress is required when in contact with families.
    Work Postures

    • Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
    Physical Demands

    • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
    Work Hours

    • Working beyond "standard" hours as the need arises
