Job Description:


Protenergy Natural Foods Corp, a fully integrated manufacturer of natural food and beverage products, has an immediate opening for co-op position as an Assistant Maintenance Technician at its Richmond Hill facility.


Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing assistance to the maintenance team on all preventative maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Improving the 5S standardization and organization in the maintenance shop and implementing sustainable best practices.
  • Championing the reliability tools in vibrational analysis, thermography, lubrication management and ultrasonic airborne tools to develop standard inspection and work practices in SAP.
  • Involved in one PIT CI project to help with the factory cost saving initiatives and one PIT Safety project.
  • Assisting the Material Purchaser and Parts Inventory Clerk in improving material inventory management.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Department on continuous improvement and special projects as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience with high speed flexible packaging equipment an asset.
  • Knowledge of SAP an asset
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and CI tools an asset
  • Understand the use of predictive maintenance tools an asset
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, capable of working in a diverse and multicultural atmosphere.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written & verbal).
  • Ability to work in a multiskilled, rotating shift environment.
  • Demonstrated regard for personnel and product safety.

Requirements:


  • Completion of Secondary School Diploma.
  • Currently enrolled in a University Degree or Diploma program (preferably in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program).
  • Demonstrate high regard for personnel and product safety.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written & verbal).
