The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres.

The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).


The Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing educates nurses who are reflective practitioners and provide recognized leadership in nursing theory, research, practice, inter-professional health teaching and learning, and policy advancements.


Responsibilities:


The Graduate Student Assistant/Research Assistant will support an interdisciplinary SSHRC-funded research team in the coordination, logístical planning and data collection with several community partners, service providers, and academic collaborators.


Key goals for the role include:

  • Supporting data collection and analysis across several regions
  • Providing logístical support and communication to implement meetings and public events
  • Helping develop manuscripts, reports and other outputs relevant to evolving project findings

Education
Master's degree preferred, three years completion of an undergraduate degree required.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

Required skills:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication
  • Ability to proactively plan, schedule, and implement communitybased events
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook calendar
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve goals
  • Intermediate ability to conduct qualitative interviews
  • Strong command of project planning and coordination
