Summary:


Under the supervision of the Vice-President Finance & Operation for Topcon Canada Inc, the person will be Responsible for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within the British Columbia territory.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Promoting the sale of ophthalmic instrumentation, including digital imaging systems to ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians in different regions of British Columbia as determine by the VP finance & Operation and the President;
  • Installation and training of the equipment sold, as well as support of that equipment after the sale;
  • Focusing on existing and new business to business account development;
  • Expansion of the company's sales of products within the assigned territory;
  • Conducting prospecting and tactical calling activities regularly in the field;
  • Setting appointments with prospects and present our product lines;
  • Developing and qualifying leads within the territory to drive new business opportunities;
  • Negotiating and closing business ensuring the successful installation of the product;
  • Maintaining of a contact/lead database for the territory;
  • Attendance at local and regional shows, and occasionally national trade shows at the request of management;
  • Consistently meeting sales quotas and revenue goals;
  • Prepare reports of sales activities and upcoming agenda.

Requirements and Experience:


  • A postsecondary degree in technical science or business discipline is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the diagnostic/eyecare ophthalmic industry an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years related Healthcare sales experience.
  • Business to Business Sales experience that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the sales process and ethical business practices.
  • Successful record of delivering sales strategy and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong presentation skills, business acumen, and leadership qualities.
  • A solid grasp of sales metrics, performance measures, and technical indicators.
  • A thorough aptitude for analysis and strategy.
  • Decisive thinking and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and clientrelations skills.
  • Negotiation, conflict resolution, and presentation skills.
  • Dynamic and creative problemsolving abilities.
  • A strong clientfocused mindset.
  • A valid Canadian driver's license
  • The ability to travel related to this role
  • Bilingual (French and English).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


  • Must be available for overnight travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional weekend and holiday trips.
  • Work from your home office.
  • Extensive travel by plane and automobile.
  • Physical: lifting and lowering boxes and instruments from one level to another lbs).
  • Standing: Occasional 8 hour or more time periods during trade show.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet and database management.
