- MPI Vehicle Standards PVIP Certificate, Commercial Bus and Truck Inspection Certificate or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Must hold a valid Class 4 Driver's Licence or be willing to obtain within 6 months
- WHMIS certification or be willing to obtain within 6 months
- Interprovincial Certification in Motor Vehicle Mechanic Repair (Red Seal)
- Physically able to perform all duties of the job Qualifications: Essential:
- Extensive automotive repair experience in diagnostic, repair and maintenance of vehicles and related equipment
- Extensive experience with standard automotive shop methods, practices and techniques, tools, equipment and materials used to repair current vehicle technologies
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work co-operatively and constructively as part of a team
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance conflicting priorities and tight deadlines Desired:

- MOPIA certification
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification is considered an asset Duties: This position's responsibility is the mechanical inspection, maintenance and repair of the vehicles and related equipment that is being repaired in the Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency's repair facility. This includes the Provincial ambulance program. Duties include but not limited to: performing repairs on cars and light and medium duty trucks as outlined in the manufacturer's service and repair manuals, performing diagnostics on cars and light and medium duty truck systems (including using diagnostic test equipment and road testing), installing aftermarket accessories on cars and light and medium duty trucks, performing preventative maintenance programs on cars, light and medium duty trucks as outlined in the manufacturer's service and repair manuals, performing PVIP (Private Vehicle Inspection Program) inspections & commercial inspections as outlined by the respective programs.
