Position Summary


The Communications and Marketing Coordinator builds strong internal relationships to assist in the execution of our communications and marketing plan.

Graphic design, content management, editing, writing, and working with primary health care teams to achieve program objectives through marketing and communications opportunities are key functions of this role.


As the internal brand expert, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator ensures that all mediums (print, digital, social) are aligned and exercised in support of organizational strategy and priorities.


The Communications and Marketing Coordinator receives day to day guidance, mentorship and support from the Communications and Marketing Specialist and reports to the Engagement Manager.


Key Responsibilities
Internal & Employee Communications

  • Maintain website and intranet content, functionality and graphics.
  • Engage and educate employees on internal and external communications, including consistent messaging and brand reputation.
  • Maintain MPCN templates library and uphold policies, procedures and guidelines related to marketing and communications.
Program Promotion & Marketing

  • Collaborate with MPCN clinical and business portfolios to provide communications and marketing expertise to achieve program objectives (i.e. awareness, change management, participation, evaluation).
  • Develop, monitor and ensure adherence of MPCN brand awareness through attendance at various internal and external engagement opportunities including but not limited to community fairs, continuing medical education (CMEs) and events.
  • Execute social media management and search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Manage marketing materials design, inventory and distribution.
  • Provide support for engagement and community initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism plus three years communications and marketing experience demonstrating past success in developing and executing strategic communications plans
    or relevant Diploma plus five years of experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills, including the ability to present concepts verbally.
  • Proven editorial experience including strong language skills and the ability to adjust content to remain consistent with brand, direction, and strategy.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and Intranets is required.
  • Experience with SEO and social media management sites such as Facebook Business Manager, Buffer, Hootsuite, etc. is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator is required.
  • Experience with videography and video ed
