The Opportunity

Columbia College is looking for
Sociology Sessional Instructors **to teach University Transfer Courses on campus.

  • Full semester:_
- **Sociology 110,** Introductory Sociology I, section (9)
  • Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 am to 9:55 am
- **Sociology 120**, Introductory Sociology II, section Tuesday and Friday from 16:00 pm to 17:55 pm
- **Sociology 250**, Comparative Ethnic Relations, section Wednesday and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 13:55 pm

  • Second half of the semester: (Starting June 28 )_
- **Sociology 110,** Introductory Sociology I, section Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:55 am
- **Sociology 110,** Introductory Sociology I, section Wednesday and Saturday from 14:00 pm to 15:55 pm


These part-time sessional positions will commence in May 2023 and end in August 2023.
Key Responsibilities

Instructors' primary responsibilities include planning, teaching, marking, and grading the appointed course/s.
-
Master's degree in
Sociology.

  • Online and facetoface
    experience teaching Sociology at another postsecondary institution.
  • Excellent expertise with Learning Management Systems (Knowledge and experience with Moodle is an asset)
  • Demonstrated success in innovative or studentcentered teaching techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in teaching a diverse student body.
Salary

We offer an attractive compensation
:
$8,252.78 per course for a Master's degree
holder and
$9,211.36 per course for a Ph.
D.
holder.
