Hospitality Administrator - Edmonton, Canada - Excel Society
Description
The Hospitality Administrator provides leadership and operational oversight for hospitality services including kitchen services and overall facility public health compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing annual program goals, strategies, and budget in consultation with the Director of Care.
- Ensuring that the department adheres to provincial, legislative, and Public Health guidelines (e
g:
infection control procedures).
- Ensuring dietary needs for clients are being met.
- Setting schedules for kitchen staff at Designated Supportive Living (DSL) sites.
- Manages kitchen staff, including hiring, scheduling, organizing, training, directing, evaluating work performance. Administers collective agreements accurately and consistently.
- Coaching, providing performance management, and performance appraisals to staff in collaboration with the Director of Care.
- Perform regular property inspections of units, common areas, building exteriors, and landscape. Submit all required maintenance requirements.
- Monitor need for kitchen equipment maintenance and repair.
- Responsible for proper inventory of materials and supplies for kitchen and janitorial work.
- Monitor performance of janitorial contract staff and report any performance issues.
- Ensure all meals meet the required dietary needs of patients and create special meals for clients as required.
- Identify site-specific safety issues, and create appropriate solutions.
- Maintain appropriate first aid supplies and perform health and safety audits.
- Developing services to increase revenue such as catering.
- Performing emergency on-call duties.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Kitchen environment with hot/cold temperatures and noise.
- Dealing with behaviours of concern.
- Lifting up to a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Frequent sitting, squatting, bending, waling, and lifting.
- Working in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business, Culinary Management, or Hospitality field.
3. 5 years of direct work experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Excellent and effective communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Supervisory experience in Food Service in an assisted living or long-term care facilities.
- Professional and confidential in all aspects of the position.
Salary:
$56,000.00-$59,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
