Position Summary
The Construction Material Delivery Driver position is primarily tasked with picking up, dropping-off, and loading and unloading construction materials. The job involves cleaning up jobsites and planning your route according to priority and considering efficient routing. You will need to communicate with our site foremen and dispatcher to ensure proper coordination.


Role and Responsibilities

  • You will need verify that you are picking up the correct type and quantity of materials and keep records of the delivery for the office.
  • You will need to keep your van clean inside and out and secure materials to prevent moving and damage during transportation.
  • You will need to clean up job sites including picking up and throwing out construction debris and left over materials.
  • You will need to pickup unused materials from job sites and bring them to storage.
  • You will need to be able to inventory the material that you have in storage.
  • You need to be able to work year round, both winter and summer and during rain.
  • You will drive a van and will be dispatched to pick up materials from suppliers and deliver them to construction sites without damaging them.
  • You must plan your route according to priority and considering efficient routing and communicate with our site foremen and dispatcher to ensure proper coordination.
  • Takes initiative, focused on safety and efficiency.

Additional Information

  • Must possess a full class G Ontario driver's license, a driving record that demonstrates responsible and safe driving behaviour, and a reliable vehicle to get to and from our headquarters in Bells Corners (Nepean).
  • Must speak, read and write in English, French is an asset.
  • Previous experience with roofing or siding is an asset.
  • Standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM including a 30minute unpaid lunch. Normal 40hour work week of Monday to Friday.
  • Familiarity with navigating the Ottawa is an asset.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
