We provide equipment repair, manufacturing, machining, CNC machining, grinding & plating company providing services in the Industrial, Aerospace, Mobile, Equipment, Marine, Defense, Construction, Forestry, Oil & Gas, and Energy sectors.
Plating Technician
As Plating Technician you will be responsible to:
- Review work instruction sheet, receive, count, and inspect parts prior to process, and ensure hardware traceability is maintained;
- Required to perform all preparation prior to plating (e.g. Cleaning/masking/blasting);
- Calculate the surface to be plated, determine number of loads, and calculate the amperage per square foot/inch. Set the rectifier controller to the appropriate/specified Amps in line with the job instruction sheet;
- Process parts according to traveler specifications, perform postprocess dimensional and visual inspection of the appearance of coating, (up to and including Hydrogen Embrittlement) and notify supervisor or Quality Department in case of nonconformance or discrepancies for resolution. Complete work instruction sheet to record the work performed and verify part;
- Upon completion, document all operations and coordinate with Quality Department as needed;
- Transfer parts to the next workstation as stated on traveler;
- Strictly follow Company policy and procedures, verify for calibration and maintain in good working condition instruments, gauges, equipment and touch up chemicals for expiry date;
- Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout department and work facility;
- Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action;
- Ensure use of personal protective equipment, as per station requirements, is always worn.
- +2 years plating and/or chemical processing experience (or equivalent);
- Highly organized and experience working within deadlines in a fastpaced environment;
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, including written and verbal;
- Strong data analysis skills, coupled with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results;
- Familiar with total quality management and continuous improvement processes;
- Good decisionmaking & problemsolving capabilities.
