Come make a difference in lives of our residents at Sherbourne Health Centre, in downtown Toronto.

As the Building Services Operator, you will be responsible for performing a variety of work including the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds in assigned area.

The Building Services Operator, may be responsible for oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the maintenance operation.


Appropriate skills needed for the day to day maintenance and operation of large facilities that have complex heating, mechanical and electrical systems along.

Has specific knowledge of how to operate the facility that takes into consideration the interplay of building systems to maximize energy and resource efficiency, reduce waste, provide superior indoor air qualities, and the requirement of the building tenants.


Compensation Data

$28.29 per hour. This is an important role and is Full Time Temp 3 months Contract with possibility of extension.


Responsibilities:


  • Inspects assigned area on a routine basis and performs maintenance where necessary to keep facility in functioning and serviceable condition
  • Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of prescheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures

  • Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, etc.
  • Report on any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations.
  • Always comply with Sherbourne / Aramark policies and procedures and ensure building standards and efficiencies are maintained.
  • Always conduct appropriately and present an acceptable appearance while on site performing the duties of the position.

Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated expertise in maintenance preferred
  • Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
  • Exercise considerable judgment based on previous experience to solve problems
  • May act as an informal resource for those with less experience
  • Operates with limited supervision
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends


This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.

This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
