Description

This is a temporary (up to 6 months) part time Administrative Staff position reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, working 24 hours per week at an hourly rate of $27.11.

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for providing front line customer service to both College leaders, employees and students with respect to all Human Resources services.


The Associate provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and will have accountabilities in the areas of: New Hire/Onboarding, Pension and Benefits, Payroll and HRIS, Labour Relations, Recruitment & Selection and Job Evaluation, as well as other duties as assigned.


Specific Accountabilities:


  • Receive/review new hire documents
  • Administers the overall process of onboarding of new employees
  • Populates the missing new hire information in Colleague, HRIS and MS Teams
  • Review/update onboarding checklists
  • Answers questions regarding new employee training
  • Schedules CMT Orientation sessions
  • Receive/review enrolment forms for completion and accuracy
  • Assist employees with benefits/pension questions
  • Track/Update employee changesaddress, family status, employee group, etc
  • Initiate birth/death announcements
  • Update benefit summaries annually by employee group
  • Issue retiree tax receipts and mailouts

Qualifications:


  • Minimum three years of experience in Human Resources is required at the point of hire, with preferably direct experience with HRIS systems, pension & benefits and onboarding staff
  • Superb interpersonal skills to build relationships and trust with Employees, Union Representative and College Managers
  • Must have superior attention to detail, numeric skills and a high degree of accuracy
  • Tact and discretion to recognize and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fastpaced environment, generate ideas to improve business processes and contribute to an environment that fosters growth, development and innovation
  • Creative problemsolver with excellent followthrough skills and proven ability to take initiative
