Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing landscape construction team as a Construction Foreperson. This position is for our commercial construction division.

Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape construction heavy equipment.

The Foreperson will be responsible for a team of 2-3 people and will report directly to the Commercial Construction Manager.

Year round employment is available as a zone manager for our winter maintenance team.

Salary:
$28-$38/hr, dependent on experience

Responsibilities

Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
Provide guidance to construction helpers regarding daily duties
Communicate with client and supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
Take accountability for overall production and quality of on site work
Follow planned landscaping designs to install hardscape/landscape construction projects for our commercial clients
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment
Properly complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
At minimum a valid G license is required with a clean driving record
Must be willing to work 4050 hours per week and some weekends depending on work load
Other duties will be assigned as required

Desired Skills and Experience

35 years experience in landscape construction, commercial projects
35 years experience operating various heavy equipment
Must have prior experience in a leadership/foreman role
Knowledge of plants, hardscape, masonry, carpentry, excavating, grading, drainage and snow removal
Experience using equipment such as loaders, skid steers, mini excavators and other landscape equipment
Ability to read and follow construction drawings
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Must be safety conscious
Skill to troubleshoot solutions when problems arise
Excellent team player
Great communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
Must be punctual and personable
Must obtain WHMIS and Health and Safety training
