We currently have a
Temporary Full-time (until approx. December 2023) opportunity for a
Receptionist II
in the
Odette Cancer Centre at our
Bayview campus.


Hours of Work:


Weekdays:
Days, 8am-4:30pm; As per schedule


Summary of Duties:

To provide reception services to the patients, families, clients and staff of the Odette Cancer Centre.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responding to all incoming calls
  • Greeting and interacting with all visitors and staff
  • Managing all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Distribution of all electronic faxes
  • Ensuring all deliveries are signed for and distributed appropriately
  • Ordering of all supplies as needed, i.e. courier waybills,
  • Call the appropriate vendor for maintenance of fax and photocopier equipment
  • Sorting of all courier waybills for accounting purposes
  • Ensuring the reception area is neat and organized
  • Responding to physicians', patients', families' and caregivers' real time queries related to virtual care appointments, including troubleshooting technical challenges and login support

Qualifications/Skills:


  • Require successful completion of a two (2) year community college diploma, plus a minimum of 2 years of related practical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various computer software packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in keyboarding, at least 40 wpm
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellent ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English grammar, with excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with mínimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills in order to meet deadlines
