Stonehenge delivers long-term, intensive residential treatment services to those whose addiction/concurrent presentations are complex. Many of our clients enter treatment directly from the Federal and Provincial correctional systems.

About the Role:

This role will work collaboratively with the Clinical Leadership in support of STC's Therapeutic Community (Residential Program). Previous experience working in a residential treatment environment and group facilitation skills are essential to this role.


Role Type:
Full Time, Permanent


Hours of Work:


  • Monday to Friday (days), with evening and weekend work on a regular and rotational basis to effectively support oversight of staff teams.
  • Participation in a mandatory clinical 'on call' rotation is also required, as a shared responsibility of the Clinical Leadership team.

Qualifications:


  • BSW or other relevant university degree relevant to addiction, mental health or social services
  • A minimum of 1 year of direct clinical work with individuals experiencing addiction and concurrent mental health issues required
  • Previous experience in the field of addictions and group skills mandatory
  • Previous experience working with trauma and concurrent disorders
  • Previous experience in residential treatment an asset
  • Previous experience in correctional field an asset
  • Previous experience with justiceinvolved individuals preferred
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and team leadership
  • Certified Addictions Counsellor or equivalent would be an asset
  • Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asset
  • Valid G Driver's License
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record and Reliable Vehicle
  • CSC Clearance conducted by PWGS Canada
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
  • Must be able to attend work (travel to Residential Centres) within an hour of notification, when on call

Role Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision

  • Oversee the Residential Support Staff team and Group Facilitator team including:
  • Supporting professional development of clinical staff through routine supervision
  • Providing coaching, feedback, mentoring, and targeted use of supervision as required
  • Complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for all supervisees in consultation with Clinical Manager
  • Residential Services
  • Participate in new staff recruitment in conjunction with the HR Manager
  • Orient and support new staff in understanding role and responsibilities
  • Build and maintain high performance teams
  • Guide clinical decisionmaking and manage highrisk situations
  • Provide on call support and crisis supervision on "off hours", on a rotational basis, as required
  • Facilitate monthly meetings for the Residential Support Staff
  • Participate in all team meetings
  • Support and enhance a culture of openness and mutual respect within and across teams
  • Attend weekly Leadership Team meeting
  • Participate in a support/development plan; Supervisor to provide coverage for the Clinical Manager during short term absences (holiday coverage, etc.); take on necessary responsibilities and support agency and program decision making
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required
Ongoing Program Development for Residential Services

  • Conduct Therapeutic Community Concepts Training for staff and residents
  • Support residential staff in utilizing a TC approach to decision making and interventions
  • Work alongside the STC Leadership Team, while utilizing the TC approach, to support program development
Administrative

  • Complete regular clinical file audits
  • Maintain thorough and accurate supervision notes and files
  • Participate in quality assurance processes such as accreditation and the implementation of residential program outcome measurement tools and reporting of results (i.e. client satisfaction surveys, retention results, etc.)
  • Sign off hours for electronic payroll
