QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Personal Support Worker Program or equivalent education as a RN student completion of year 2 or greater, RPN student completion of term 2 or greater.
  • Current CPR.
  • One year experience working as a Personal Support Worker in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Nursing Homes Act and all applicable legislation, specifically Long Term Care Homes Act 2007 and Ontario regulations 79/10.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care.
  • Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other members of the Interprofessional Team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care.
  • Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, selfdirected and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
