The Niagara Health Knowledge Institute (NHKI) was established in May 2023 as a one-of-a-kind Knowledge Institute affiliated with Niagara Health, a community hospital in Canada, integrating a strong applied health research and education hub with impactful clinical programs.

The NHKI is led by Dr. Jennifer Tsang, the Executive Director and Chief Scientist.

The research, quality improvement, and education projects are conducted in close collaboration and partnership with McMaster University, Brock University, and Niagara College.

The vision of the NHKI is to transform healthcare in Niagara through knowledge generation, knowledge mobilization and capacity building.

The mission of the NHKI is to lead community hospital-based research in Canada and to advance health care and health service delivery through research, quality improvement, and education.

To this end, we are seeking to fill the position of a Research Coordinator.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field: applied health sciences or health systems research.
  • High proficiency in qualitative (e.g., Dedoose, NVivo) and quantitative (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) research software.
  • Experience with a broad range of research methodologies including quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods.
  • Experience with quality improvement and knowledge mobilization methodologies
  • Experience with grant and manuscript writing.
  • Experience with community hospital research environments
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) technical and laylanguage communications.
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, and work accurately and effectively with deadlines (sometimes tight deadlines).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including after hours, weekends and holidays to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and willing to selflearn new methods.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of local health system partners.
  • Experience working with integrated knowledge mobilization research.
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Based on performance metrics, this position has the opportunity to be extended.
