Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports ("Linck") requires one (1) Kinship Services Case Aide. This is a contract position working 35 hours per week, beginning in May 2024, and lasting 8 weeks.


The incumbent will provide a variety of services related to the ongoing support of Kinship families and individuals interested in providing Kinship services for a child/youth.

The incumbent will support the Kinship Services Worker with matters related to selection and placement of a child/youth and then assist with supporting the child/youth in the home to help ensure the placement is sustainable.

The incumbent will work with the Kinship Services Worker to develop a Plan of Care for the child/youth.

The incumbent will also be tasked with a sustainability project of launching a peer support group to assist the Kinship Services department and the Kinship families.; and other duties as required to support the work of Kinship Services.


Qualifications:


  • Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment per grant funding requirements;
  • Lived experience as a recipient of child protection services would be considered an asset;
  • Attainment of, or progression towards postsecondary education of a bachelor of social work (bsw), master of social work (msw), or a bachelor(honours) in a related field of study;
  • Ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong time management skills;
  • The ability to communicate in french is an asset;
  • Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions;
  • A commitment to developing the highest quality culturallyappropriate service possible for the various communities that we serve; and
  • A valid driver's license.
