Thierry Busset is widely regarded as one of the finest pastry chefs in North America.

Our shop boasts a stunning room featuring classic chocolates, macarons, cakes and pastries; all items are hand-made daily using only premium ingredients.

Barista-crafted espresso and liquid chocolate beverages are also a central part of the cafe, complimented by a selection of sandwiches, soups, and savoury offerings.

We are also licensed and offer a selection of wine and spirits to complement our wide array of products.

***: Thierry is looking for a Cafe Manager to oversee its newest location, coming soon to Ambleside in West Vancouver. The Store Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day operations of the café and will show a commitment to excellence in all that they do. The incumbent will work closely with both FOH staff and the Pastry team to ensure that customers receive the highest levels of service excellence.


Please note that this role will be training at our two current locations (downtown Vancouver and Mount Pleasant) prior to the Ambleside opening.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned as required)

  • Operate all aspects of the front of house with focus on exceeding daily sales goals
  • Lead all team members in delivering consistent, memorable moments of hospitality for our guests
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and continually improve service strategies to always ensure our customers receive best in class service
  • Continuously provide leadership and support to all service staff and actively participate in the cycle of service, as needed
  • Recruit, onboard, train, performance manage, and schedule FOH staff to build a strong performing team dedicated to hospitality, and achievement of business goals
  • Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness of the front of house and ensure health and safety standards are met and maintained
  • Collaborate with management team to keep a continuous pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and cultivate regulars and continue to find ways to strengthen our community
  • Generate business growth through local marketing initiatives
  • Merchandise product in accordance with company and brand standards

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Completion of postsecondary courses in business or a related field
  • At least three years of customer service experience at a supervisory level in a hospitality/restaurant environment
  • Proven commitment to a premium level of quality in both guest service and the overall operation of the establishment
  • Strong problemsolving skills with demonstrated commitment to immediate service recovery solutions
  • Skilled at developing and creating experiences that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle conflicting deadlines
  • Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safe Certification is required
  • Serving It Right License is required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
