Description
Your Opportunity:
This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join the Adult Addiction and Mental Health team at the Spruce Grove Addiction & Mental Health Clinic within the Adult Community Services portfolio. Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Care Manager of the East Suburban clinics, the Mental Health Clinician (MHC) will partner with a member of the Parkland RCMP detachment to provide services to individuals within the Edmonton Zone experiencing addiction and/or mental health challenges. The MHC will be responsible for direct clinical service in the area(s) of screening, assessment, and crisis intervention for individuals with complex mental health needs and/or concurrent disorders. Based upon the needs of the individual, the MHC will provide community-based assessment, service planning, and crisis management to adults experiencing addiction and mental health concerns to ensure the appropriate resources are in place. The MHC works collaboratively with the client and other health and social service providers. The MHC, in collaboration with the team, ensures that clinical services are delivered safely, are of high quality, and align with the Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care for clients, families, and community partners.
Description:
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.
Required Qualifications:Completion of one of the following programs: a Master¿s degree in Psychology, a Bachelor¿s degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master¿s or Bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor¿s degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor¿s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:3 years Community Addiction and Mental Health experience.Efficient with LOCUS tool (Level of Care Utilization System)Knowledge and experience in the use of Connect Care.
