The Opportunity


The Manager, Benefits position will serve as the benefits expert for Canada and the Americas (Mexico and Brazil) on the design, delivery, evaluation, and effective administration of all employee benefit programs and initiatives.

Reporting to the Americas Regional Benefits Director, this is an exciting role that will be heavily involved in M&A projects for the region and work on global rewards projects.


During our transition to migrating benefits delivery and processing to the new HR Shared Services (HRSS) team, this role is accountable for supporting the process and partnering with the Director of the HRSS team to hire new team members and expand the scope of work.


You Are Great At
Program Design, Communications and Cost Management

  • Lead the design and delivery of a comprehensive benefits package/programs to meet business objectives and keep pace with the changing workforce within the assigned region (Americas)
  • Represent the team in due diligence activities, acting as a central point of contact for all benefit activities for the region
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate with insurance companies, thirdparty administrators, and consultants to ensure they deliver highquality service and comply with contract terms and conditions.
  • Manage the annual renewal processes, including analysis and business case development.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive communication materials for new and existing benefit programs with the employee experience in mind
  • Ensure that the company intranet (OTC) is updated and maintained for the region working with the HRSS team
  • Monitor benefit trends and stay abreast of applicable benefits legislation, analyze, and interpret existing and statutory requirements governing benefits plans and recommend an appropriate course of action.
Business Partnerships

  • As a member of the Regional Benefits team, serve as the resident expert for all regional benefits
  • Develop and maintain relationships with HRBPs in the region, the Talent Acquisition team, and Business Operations to ensure that benefit plans meet the needs of both the business and the employees in a costeffective manner
  • As part of the global rewards team, participate in global benefits quarterly meetings and provide updates on the benefits and programs you manage
Partnership with HR Shared Services (HRSS) and the Benefits Delivery Team

  • Partner with the HRSS team to continually improve the benefits administration process, including the creation of relevant SOPs and SLAs
  • Function as the escalation point for internal and external inquiries relating to benefit plans, policies, and procedures and advise management on resolving benefits issues from the HRSS/ Specialist Team
  • Be an advocate for employees and find ways to provide a more positive employee experience

What It Takes
years of experience in HR with at least five years focused on benefits in a large global organization

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • Experience with Canadian benefits, including leaves and disability, as well as US benefits
  • Working knowledge of local regulations, filing, and compliance requirements, for benefits administration and policy
  • Strong background in manipulating data using Excel
  • SAP experience is a plus
