JOB SUMMARY**Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Junior Materials Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, supporting the Shipping/receiving and Materials departments with the distribution of our product; and ensuring customer requirements are met and exceeded. Sub-contractor/ scheduling / tracking and attainment metrics.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to procedures and instructions.

Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions, practices, and ensures that good safety processes are included in all activities. Ensure the Standards of Section 28 of the OHSA are met

Responsible for inventory control within QAD which consists of:

  • Performs regular cycle counts and analyzes inventory variances.
  • Produce daily and as required all shipping documents and export papers both manually and computer generated.
  • Communicate any shipping delays to the necessary shipping supervision.
  • On completion of shipments, close out shipping papers and send ASN advance shipping notices to customers within 30 minutes of the driver departing the plant.
  • Invoice to customers all shipments made on a daily basis.
  • Produce bar code labels for shipments as required.
  • Sign out drivers as required.
  • May assist with inplant and interplant transfer of materials.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and investigates and understands negative inventories and adjust accordingly.
  • Perform rack counts and responsible to ensure that the proper inventories of containers (expendable and returnable) are in place to support our EOQ of the production schedule to accommodate both internal and external requirements.
  • Data entry of production reporting.
  • Data entry and tracking Qhold material /tags.
  • Clerical requirements related to various logs and tracking.
  • Ensure sufficient racks in house to support production schedule and customer shipments.
  • Keep all records related to production control and customer service organized neatly, files updated etc.
  • Back up for Materials Coordinator.
  • Perform various audits as assigned (LPA/FIFO/INVENTORY).
  • Participation in 5's Gemba walks and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support Materials team with all daytoday activities as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and related processes, including customer shipping requirements, production scheduling and raw materials.
  • Grade 12 and two years or more of experience in a computerized materials management / production environment
  • Ability to work with a partner and independently as needed.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of the relevant software
