Reporting to the Inclusion Services Coordinator, and/or designate, the Summer Inclusion Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementation, scheduling, and delivery of new and existing Inclusion programs-Including increased weeks of Youth adaptive camp and 1:1 inclusive support program in day camps.

Provide administrative support to Inclusion area, as required. Provide on-site supervision of Inclusion programs and staff. Interact with the public on a regular basis, and promote City programs and services to customers. Assist with facilitating intakes with families to access inclusion programs including completing participant profiles and training to staff.

Requirements:

Knowledge and skill generally associated with the completion minimum 2 years towards post-secondary education in any of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Education and/or related experience


One (1) year of previous related job experience working with children who benefit from program adaptations and one to one support to be successful in a camp environment.

Ability to model and teach behavior management and self-regulation strategies.

Develop and facilitate formal training for inclusion staff.

Provide assistance and feedback to inclusion staff, to promote participant success.

Ability to have sensitive conversations with caregivers.

Competent and experienced with lifts/transfers and the provision of personal care such as toileting and feeding.

Knowledge of seizure disorders and related protocols.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Creative, flexible and patient.

Development of age appropriate curriculum based on ability and interests.

Possess current Standard First Aid Certification with CPR 'C'.

Provide a current (within six months) Criminal Record Check

Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;

Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

(International students are not eligible.)

Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong organizational, analytical, marketing, administrative, business planning and problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer service experience communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff, external agencies, and the general public.


Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and able to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
