Your Role:

We are currently seeking a Junior Civil Engineer for our Pickering, ON office. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities:

Participate in preparing civil designs, including calculations, construction details and drawings, for stormwater systems, site layout and grading.
Design work will be executed in a 3D environment utilizing state-of-the-art 3D modelling software to simulate as-found field topography as well as final grading design to demonstrate post-development conditions.
Ability to perform design, including preparation of calculations, material lists, drawings, technical and construction specifications.
Reports to department manager and assists in preparation of design estimates, construction costs and proposal submissions.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications.

Qualifications:

University Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.ENG.
2 plus years of experience in design in municipal and linear infrastructure systems and structures.
Experience in linear infrastructure design including but not limited to: site development, drainage, grading, site utilities, erosion control, and roadway design.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Knowledge of PCSWWM software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

Additional Information:

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.) If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational and security) and professional reference checks is required. Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law.

These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
