Job Summary:


How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for assisting the Manager in providing supervision and training to all staff in Patient Food Services.


As a CBORD SPECIALIST, you will:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Patient Food Services Department
  • Continually monitoring day to day operations by supervising staff and ensuring meal service standards meets CGC's and industry expectations.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction through daily auditing of meal service
  • Responsible for any daily staff replacements/coverage in an unionized environment
  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass' Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations
  • Leads the development of the CBORD food service information system
  • Managed the systems related to CBORD to ensure efficiency

About you:


  • You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
  • CSNM is preferred
  • Experience with CBORD food and nutrition system
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in supervising a diverse team in healthcare environment
  • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training
  • Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff
  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
