Your role with us:

As a Production Specialist, you will play an essential role by participating in quality control, manufacturing, and distribution of radiopharmaceutical products in our PET pharmacy in Toronto.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of PERs isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals, including FDG.
  • Assist in the development of new PER production and quality processes.
  • Assists in the operation and maintenance of a PERs cyclotron, including first line repair measures.
  • Maintains all applicable documents and records including SOPs for current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Performs sterile, aseptic technique, including sterility testing.
  • Performs QC procedures using analytical equipment, pyrogen tests, chemical tests, etc.
  • Prepares and ships radioactive materials according to procedures and licensing authorities' requirements.
  • Complies to the Radiation Safety program.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory.
  • Operates computers and software, including cyclotron and synthesis module operation, word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Assists in repair of equipment, if qualified.
  • Performs deliveries, as needed.
  • Performs and executes all other duties assigned by the Facility Manager.
  • Completes all necessary training related to Pharmacovigilance.
  • Completes all required Safety and Quality & Compliance training within the defined guidelines.
  • Always adheres to Company policies and procedures, as well as (not limited to) Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality goals and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Works on ad hoc projects, as required.

Qualifications and required skills

  • College degree in Science (Bachelor's degree, an asset)
  • Experience in the preparation, dispensing, shipping and receipt of radiopharmaceuticals, an asset
  • Experience with quality control equipment such as HPLC, GC (an asset)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to accommodate shift changes based on business needs, including night shift, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on effective communication and ability to work with diverse personalities and skill levels
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks under severe time constraints and performs under pressure
  • Excellent crossfunctional problemsolving skills and sound judgment
