One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.


The Casual Relief Receptionist/Secretary(s) is a valued member of the Community Health Centre team and is responsible for monitoring client flow, handling incoming telephone calls, scheduling appointments and updating the client database.

These are Casual Relief positions with fluctuating hours.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience as a Receptionist and/or Medical Secretary in a health care setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data entry and scanning would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of electronic client records and medical filing systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to socioeconomic and cultural issues
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within individuals who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, noninsured).
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
  • Availability to work flexible work hours that includes weekdays, evenings and weekends
