The Role


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the
Events Specialist will support with the planning and execution of the industry's highest quality consumer and trade events, with a goal to drive sales, create positive impressions with all key audiences (customers, consumers, media, etc.) and to build Mark Anthony's profile as Canada's premiere alcohol beverage company.


Events Management

  • Maintain annual Event Calendar and communicate internally/externally to all stakeholders. Develop robust plans to ensure all events are executed ontime and onbudget and with the highest degree of professionalism and success.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage all event details such as décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, staffing, invitations, audiovisual, insurance, etc.
  • Develop and disseminate event collateral including booklets, order forms, branded promotional materials, wine cards, menus, POS materials, etc.
  • Assess each event and create postmortem report assessing the ROI, key wins, key losses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Be informed of intrade activities, including pricing, programming and focus of efforts/route to market, and align events plans where applicable.
  • Work closely with Communications Team to ensure that the events strategy, planning and execution (Western Canada / Eastern Canada) is completely aligned.
  • Ensure that handoff of regional event execution is seamless (east to west / west to east)

Stakeholder Partnerships

  • Ensure strong proposals for event participation are presented to Sales, Brand, Trade and Partnership teams, determine event budgets and plans for execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders customers, partners and vendors.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing on sponsorship opportunities, identifying potential revenue streams and negotiating agreements in the company's best interest.
  • Liaise between Public Relations, Trade and Brand teams to develop creative collateral as necessary
  • Partner with People Operations to help plan and execute all Corporate Office initiatives (Harvest Celebration, Summer Picnic, Monthly Happy Hour celebrations, etc.).

Who you are:


  • 3+ years of experience in events coordination or related field
  • Diploma in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration
  • Strong creative skills with experience creating basic event collateral, such as ads, flyers, posters, etc.
