Your Responsibilities & Objectives:
- Assist with general laboratory biosafety and maintenance, including inventories, equipment repair, and ordering,
- Research and prepare required chemicals and equipment,
- Perform feasibility study of immunoassay nanobiosensors,
- Carry out functionalization and conjugation of nanostructures on substrate,
- Perform immobilization of nanostructureantibody (NS-Ab) on substrate,
- Execute characterization of the substrate using reflectance FTIR, fluorescence spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy,
- Detection of breast cancer blood serum biomarker (BCS),
- Execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods,
- Use lab equipment and software such as, Ocean View, Spectrometers,
- Statistically analyze results and prepare data bank using software,
- Build, model adapters, brackets, and other experimental tools,
- Write full report at the end of each stage,
- Assist with preparing manuscripts for submission to peer review publications/journals,
- Liaison with industry collaborators,
Required Skills/Education:
- Sc. Degree in Nanotechnology Engineering, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering (Bioelectronics), and Biological Sciences
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 or equivalent
- Must have academic or research experience in the fields of synthesis of nanomaterials, biochemistry, and wetlab
- Familiarity with antibodies (e.g., HER-II, CA 153)
- Familiarity or experience in: microfluidic systems, cell culture, immunoassay, immobilization of Ab, UV-Vis, FTIR, fluorescence, and Raman spectroscopy, and fluorescence microscopy
- Familiarity and experience in electronics, PCB, circuit design (analogue/digital)
- Must be familiar with computer programs and algorithms
- Conscientious, independent worker who is willing to learn and develop new skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent skills for written and oral communication
