Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of
Plasma-Coper Operator in our
Nisku, AB location.

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Position Summary:

Assist and support plant personnel to efficiently operate the Plasma-Coper machine for cutting/processing on structural beam/tubing/shapes to customer specifications achieving quality standards and production requirements and timelines and perform all tasks safely and in keeping with the workplace health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

Complete preinspection equipment reports before each shift including Saws / Cranes and or any other equipment used.
Perform all tasks safely and as directed
Comply with all workplace policies including health and safety
Be a team player
Perform all tasks in a professional respectful manner
Any other tasks that may be assigned by management
Participate in all company directed training
Responsible for selecting the correct material (bar and tube products) in order to saw cut customer orders as required
Organize work to consistently meet established production and quality targets.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience on a Plasma Coper Machine is a definite asset
Grade 12 or equivalent
May be required to work rotating shifts
Ability to read, write and understand English
Ability to operate the overhead crane / forklift
Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure / caliper
Self motivated, results oriented

Hourly Rate:
$33.75/hr
