Sanitation Technician Paris, ON | Full Time


POSITION SCOPE


Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Sanitation Technician is responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and clean work environment as well as the safety and quality of our products.

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for following procedures and coordinating with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure sanitation standards are met.

They are required to disassemble, clean, and sanitize production and processing equipment.

As well as clean and sanitize floor surfaces, offices and employee welfare areas ensuring they are maintained in clean and good working condition, refilling of sanitary products and soap in the washrooms and gowning areas.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for following a Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Use approved chemicals to clean and disinfect equipment and surfaces
  • Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble cannabis and food processing equipment
  • Inspect equipment before and after sanitation and take adequate corrective actions as needed.
  • Sanitize processing rooms as required as per Standard Operating Procedure
  • Restock soap, sanitizer, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in the designated areas
  • Maintain the wash up room in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Accurately complete all applicable documentation such as cleaning & sanitizing records and logs.
  • Assure all sanitation work is properly completed in a timely fashion for production to commence/resume operations.
  • Follow company policies, SOP's and work instructions.
  • Work closely with QA and QC to achieve the desired level of sanitation
  • Work closely with the maintenance department to address any maintenance related issues that arise or that would affect the sanitation departments functionality.
  • Monitor cleaning chemical inventory and coordinate purchasing requirements
  • Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations and Company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS/ABILITIES

Experience / Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • 12 Years of Experience in cleaning and sanitation role
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Food, Cannabis or CPG industry is an asset
  • Experience in GMP facility is considered an asset

  • Must have own transportation as we are not on a public transportation route

Physical Demands

  • Most of the workday would be spent on one's feet
  • Some lifting required (up to 25 lbs)
  • Using manual dexterity repetitively
  • Extended periods of stooping, bending, kneeling, standing and walking
  • Working while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Working Environment

  • Exposure to the smell of cannabis
  • Time will be spent washing and sanitizing equipment resulting in exposure to water, cleaning agents and a high humidity environment
  • Predominantly Indoors
  • Exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals
