Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC) is one of the world's premier yacht clubs and one of the finest in Vancouver.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the
Assistant Controller will play a key role in maintaining the accountability of the club's financial resources and ensuring the accuracy of the financial records.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Director of Finance in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, and all balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process salaried and hourly payroll and resolves all payroll related issues.
  • Provide back up support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as required.
  • Ensure club's financial policies are implemented and followed.
  • Provide training, support, and development to accounting staff.
  • Act as the key point of contact for payroll in the implementation of a new HRIS.
  • Assist with yearend audit.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Formal education in accounting (a Bachelor's degree is an asset).
  • High level working knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
  • Must possess payroll knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the private club industry considered an asset.

SALARY/BENEFITS
- $65,000+ per year commensurate with experience.
