Closing the Gap Healthcare (CTG) is dedicated to providing Canadians with the highest level of care across a wide range of home-based and community-setting services.


We are seeking a
Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist to design, develop, implement, and monitor CTG's training and development programs.

Reporting to the Director of HR, the
L&D Specialist will collaborate with other members of the HR team to align CTG training with our clinical development programs.


This is a one-year contract in a hybrid environment of in-office and home and is based in our Mississauga office.


What you'll be doing:


  • You will design bestinclass courses, training materials and identify delivery methods.
  • You will develop and update training materials, including elearning courses, presentations, and training manuals.
  • You will deliver and facilitate various types of inclass and webbased training sessions, including new hire orientation, enhanced home and community best practice learnings, monthly refresher training, and other soft skills training.
  • You will manage the learning management system (LMS) and other educational technology tools, ensuring seamless access to training materials and tracking employee progress and performance.
  • You will report on training completion and generating posttraining reports to capture the effectiveness and ROI of learning programs
  • You will collaborate with SMEs to create content ensuring learning objectives and outcomes are aligned with rolespecific competencies and CTG standards for quality of care.

Skills needed for success:


  • 3 years of experience in the development and delivery of adult learning and education programs, including the assessment of adult learning content
  • Degree in Human Resources or Education or related discipline
  • Completion of/or working towards completion of an adult education certificate program
  • Ability to develop engaging and relevant content that aligns with diverse learning needs and objectives
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Extremely proficient in eLearning software and Learning Management Systems
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
