The Human Resource Manager will oversee all aspects of HR for Union and Non-Union staff across multiple legal entities. This position will be based on-site in our North York office.


Essential Duties:


  • Responsible for management of HR team and overall Human Resource function, ensuring monthly/annual business results/KPI's are met.
  • Provides leadership and effective administration in all areas of HR including employee retention, salary and performance review, training/coaching and development, payroll and benefits, policy development and legislation awareness.
  • Provides guidance/mentoring and assistance to the leadership team.
  • Responsible for investigating and resolving issues such as employee complaints, labour and employee relations issues and nonworkrelated illnesses.
  • Work with the VP to plan, develop and implement improvements/initiatives within the company driving employee engagement.
  • Ensure employment practices/policies are followed and uptodate in compliance with provincial/federal legislation
  • Ongoing monitoring, measurement and innovation of HR programs, processes, policies, and procedures and implementing changes to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensuring all employment practices follow employment regulations at the federal and provincial level.
  • Support and work closely with the VP, on the annual Strategic initiatives and implementation.
  • Work with the VP on the annual employee engagement survey and rolling out the result to leaders.
  • Support departmental managers to improve and monitor the performance culture in their respective areas by adhering to the performance management system.
  • Create onboarding plans and colead the onboarding experience and process, ensuring new employees are set for success.
  • Addresses new hires' queries regarding their contracts and payroll.
  • Develops and manages offboarding processes and procedures.
  • Conducts exit interviews and updates internal documents.
  • Facilitate departmental managers to improve and monitor the performance culture in their respective areas by adhering to the performance management system.
  • Responsible for data integrity, security, and administration of HR systems
  • Work with the VP in facilitating the integration of acquisitions into the company.
  • Chair the Social Events Committee

Experience and Skills Requirements:


  • 57+ years' progressive Human Resources experience
  • CHRP designation an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication, both written and verbal are necessary for effective interaction with all levels of staff and other members of the public.
  • Knowledge of human resource information software (HRIS), experience with ADP would be an asset
  • Must exhibit high level of Professionalism, Confidentiality, and a sense of Discretion at all times.
  • Accuracy and data analysis is essential.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships and provide exemplary service to a diverse group of internal and external partners.
