Description
The DFR (Disassembly For Repair) / Reassembly technician is responsible for completly disassembling all damaged areas. After the DFR technician is finished, the vehicle should essentially be in stage that it is ready for assembly. Once all repairs have been completed, the DFR/ Reassembly Technician is responsible for reassembling the vehicle for delivery.


Duties And Responsability

  • Parts Cart Organization_
  • Perform the assigned tasks defined in the Parts Cart Organization Standard Operating Procedure including:
  • The report with the RO identification will be placed in the plastic folder hanging from the upper shelf of the cart
  • Parts to be replaced will be stored on the top shelf
  • Large parts will be hung from hooks on the cart and secured with bungee cord if necessary
  • Disassembly For Repair_
  • Perform the assigned tasks defined in the Disassembly For Repair Standard Operating Procedure including:
  • Scan for fault codes and perform a zero point calibration as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer
  • Using the Vehicle Mapping codes and colors as the guide, systematically remove and disassemble all damaged parts to be replaced
  • Detrim all original parts to be reused, place hardware directly in the storage organizer, label all hardware, etc. based on their part/ panel / location
  • If a trim piece, emblem, decal, clip, fastener or other hardware is broken, immediately obtain its replacement from shop stock or identify it's part number if not in stock, notify Repair Planner to place it on the Repair Plan
  • Once photos have been obtained, place all parts on the parts cart
  • If additional damage is uncovered during the DFR process, notify the Repair Planner
  • Vehicle Staging For Repair_
  • Ensure the hardware/small item storage item is loaded on the parts cart and all items on the cart are secured
  • If work can constructively progress prior to parts arrival, move the vehicle to the assigned repair bay
  • Vehicle Reassembly_
  • Verify if color match
  • Review repair plan for all completed operations
  • Install all parts and hardware to vehicle
  • Check all lights and horn
  • Quality check all repairs for complete and proper fit, finish and function
  • Check radio for operation
  • Road test if necessary
  • Other duties and Responsibilities_
  • Posses ability to diagnose and correctly repair damage
  • Participate in daily meetings
  • Maintain tools and equipment within department
  • Maintain clean and orderly production area throughout the work day
  • Comply with safety and OSHA procedures and requirements including: earplugs, eyeprotection

Salary:
$18.00-$21.00 per hour
